In 1875 Memel was attached to the railroad network. The line to Pogegen was the only train connection until the first World War; and today is daily driven only once again by local trains. The nowadays most important train connection leads via Siauliai to Vilnius. Three long-distance trains (one of this is a night train) and three regional trains on this line run daily. The trains are operated by the Lithuanian state railroad (Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai).
At the Soviet time Lenin welcomed the travelers in front of the station building.
